Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to access or use the Services, or 18 or older if you are in the European Union or European Economic Area. If you are under 18, you may use the Services only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

2. Content and License

All content and materials available through ShortDramaBase—such as short dramas, videos, images, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks—are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services and content for private, non-commercial entertainment only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, perform, reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise exploit the Services or content without our prior written consent, except where applicable law expressly permits limited reverse engineering.

You may not use the Services or content for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, or in any manner that interferes with or disrupts the operation of the Services.

3. Content on ShortDramaBase

Titles available on ShortDramaBase are licensed, commissioned, or otherwise authorized for distribution on the platform. Independent uploading or publishing of series by users is not permitted unless we offer a separate written creator program.

4. Acceptable Use and Restrictions

The Services are for your personal, non-commercial use only. As a condition of use, you agree to comply with these Terms and any additional rules shown in the Services.

You are responsible for configuring your devices, browsers, and security software to access the Services.

You must not abuse the Services by introducing viruses, Trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, or other malicious or technologically harmful material. You must not attempt unauthorized access to the Services, our servers, or connected systems, nor launch denial-of-service or distributed denial-of-service attacks. Violations may constitute criminal offenses, and we may report them to relevant authorities and cooperate in identifying offenders. Your access may be terminated immediately.

Prohibited conduct also includes impersonating others, harassing users, circumventing access controls, using automated tools to harvest data beyond normal browsing, or any activity that creates risk, liability, or disruption for us, other users, or third parties.

5. Virtual Currency, Virtual Goods, and Subscriptions

The Services may include virtual currency (such as coins or points, "Virtual Currency") and/or virtual digital goods or entitlements ("Virtual Goods") that can be earned through use of the Services or purchased with legal tender through one-time, automatic, recurring, or subscription-based charges.

We reserve the right, at any time and in our sole discretion, to manage, monitor, control, modify, suspend, or eliminate Virtual Currency and/or Virtual Goods, without liability to you or any third party for exercising such rights.

You receive only a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use Virtual Currency or Virtual Goods within the Services and only as expressly authorized by ShortDramaBase. You have no ownership or other property interest in any Virtual Currency or Virtual Goods.

Transfer of Virtual Currency or Virtual Goods is prohibited unless expressly authorized within the Services. Outside the Services, you may not sell, exchange, barter, gift, or otherwise transfer Virtual Currency or Virtual Goods to us, other users, or third parties.

If you purchase access on a subscription basis, you agree that: (1) charges are generally payable in advance; (2) you authorize us to store your selected payment method and charge it at the relevant intervals; (3) if a payment is refused, declined, reversed, or fails, we may suspend access until payment succeeds, and you remain responsible for related fees or chargeback costs; (4) upon cancellation, fees already paid are generally final and non-refundable except where required by law or at our sole discretion; and (5) you will manage or cancel auto-renewal through the payment channel you used (such as Stripe, PayPal, or applicable app store settings where relevant).

If these Terms are terminated, your account is closed, or the Services (or any part) are discontinued, you forfeit unused Virtual Currency and Virtual Goods, and we shall have no liability in connection therewith, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

6. Feedback and Suggestions

We welcome feedback and suggestions on how to improve ShortDramaBase. You may submit feedback through the app, Community, or by contacting us at [email protected].

By submitting feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such feedback for any purpose without compensation or notice to you, unless a separate agreement applies.

7. Privacy

We care about your privacy. Please review our Privacy Policy to learn how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use the Services.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services and content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that the Services will meet all your requirements, be secure, or free from viruses or harmful components. You use the Services at your own risk.

9. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated by you or us.

Your right to terminate: you may stop using the Services at any time by ceasing access, deleting locally stored materials where applicable, and contacting us at [email protected] if you wish to request account closure.

Our right to terminate: we may terminate these Terms, your account, or your access to the Services (in whole or in part) at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms. We may, but are not required to, provide warning before termination.

Inactive accounts: if your account has been inactive for one year or more, we may deactivate or terminate it in our sole discretion. Upon deactivation or termination, we may delete your content and information and are not obligated to return it. You are responsible for preserving content you wish to keep.

If we suspect or determine that you may breach these Terms or engage in unlawful or harmful conduct, we may notify authorities or take appropriate action, including suspending your account, without prior notice.

Consequences of termination: you may lose your account, profile information, viewing history, favorites, Virtual Currency, Virtual Goods, and other entitlements. Except where required by law, you are not entitled to refunds, compensation, or other remedies upon termination for any reason. If we terminate your account, you may not use the Services again without our express written permission. You may request reinstatement via [email protected]; we may deny any request in our sole discretion. You may not allow a person whose account we terminated to use your account.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShortDramaBase, Cloudway Intelligent Tech (HK) Ltd., and our affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, licensors, and partners will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or other damages arising from or relating to your access, use, or inability to access or use the Services or content, or any third-party websites or services linked from the Services. This applies regardless of the theory of liability and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless us and our affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, licensors, and partners from and against any claims, demands, actions, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or relating to your use of the Services, your content or feedback, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising from them are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The courts of Hong Kong shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence where applicable.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may change these Terms at any time in our sole discretion. We will notify you by posting the updated Terms on ShortDramaBase and may also send email or in-app notice where appropriate. Your continued use after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.

14. Copyright Notices

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on ShortDramaBase infringes your rights, contact us at [email protected] with sufficient detail to identify the work and the material in question, your contact information, and a statement of good faith. We will review valid notices and take appropriate action.
